CLUG Meeting Questions
From Rex Bouwense · Apr 24, 2022
Bruce raised two questions/concerns that were
not answered correctly by me.
The first was why do we check the source code when configuring Software and Updates->Other Software. He was 100% correct. There is no need to check that block and our checklists have been edited to eliminate it..
The second was why do we not recommend the installation of Ubuntu-restricted-addons. It appears that Ubuntu-restricted-extras is dependent upon Ubuntu-restricted-addons so the packages that are installed when we install Ubuntu-restricted-extras are included in the metapackage Ubuntu-restricted-addons. Check the output of the command: apt-cache show ubuntu-restricted-extras
In addition the gnome-tweak-tool has been renamed gnome-tweaks. That information has also been added to our checklist.
If I have made another error, please correct it.
