Meeting Day Poll

There has been some discussion about moving the CLUG monthly meeting to
a week day after work. Therefore, we are asking the members to
participate in a poll to express their opinion to provide input before
the decision is made. The options are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or
retain the Saturday meeting dates. Please respond within 14 days by
listing the 4 days in order of your preference. We are trying to get a
consensus so please list your first choice first, your second choice
second, your third choice third, and your fourth choice fourth as in the
example below. 1st choice _______ 2nd choice_______ 3rd choice_______ 4th choice________ The information you provide will be used to determine if we should move

RE: Devi or Rex. Just want to remind you to bring the apple laptop to the meeting this saturday, and a while back there was a list of devices up for grabs including some SSD drives. If one of those SSD drives is still available may I obtain it?
for several months now I have been trying to address this error:
root filesystem on /dev/sda5 requires manual fsck.
Upon running fsck -y /dev/sda5 I get various reactions, non of which boots and provide no prompt
On one occasion I got a page that records 5 UNC errors "failed command read FPDMA Queued"
with a final line that says: Blk_sda_update_request I/O error, dev sda sector... for each UNC error.
My question is: does this imply a bad HD?
