Use of the mailing list

One of the uses of the Cochise Linux mailing list is to ask
questions or get solutions to problems that you might have with your
Linux operating system. There is a wrong way and a right way to do
this. The correct way is to send an email to the mailing list
cochise@freelists.org describing the situation in as much detail as
possible. It will automatically be sent to all members who are
subscribed to the mailing list. You can then wait for an answer to your
question or a solution to your problem. Please do not hijack a posting
to ask your own question or ask for a solution to a problem that you are
having. Two things will happen when you do that. 1. You may not get a
response (because some folks think that is rude. Like interrupting
someone when they are talking) and 2. It becomes difficult to find your
question and answer (if you get one) in the archives
https://www.freelists.org/archive/cochiselinux. People that have
problems can search through the archives to see if their question has
been answered before. It acts as a mini-forum and the question and any
replies can be found grouped together.
The mailing list also acts as a notification system to remind
members of an activity or to post the results of an activity. Our

Not to be rude, but I believe it is actually cochiselinux@freelists.org that you email. cochise@freelists.org may go to a completely different email list, totally fail, or be a dead-end you never knew didn’t work.
