Discussion:

  • Discussed 3-D printers.
  • A member asked if there would be any known problems with dual booting Apple OS with Ubuntu on a 2017 Apple laptop. A discussion followed. There are apparently many known problems even after disabling the security chip. You manually have to add the wifi driver and sometimes drivers for sound, webcam, bluetooth, keyboard, and touchpad. The Arch Wiki has a a list of things to do when attempting to install a Linux system on a newer Apple laptop. He was advised to bring his laptop to the next meeting.
  • Mike gave an update on his Bisbee project. His grant has been approved locally, however our install on his computers is still on hold.
  • Valentine gifts were passed out to all of those in attendance.
