Community projects updates
- CLUG/AZLOCO Installation Festival (28 January) – Rex Bouwense, project manager - Planning is on going. The release from liability paper has been completed. So far 3 members have volunteered to be present all day and one for either the morning or the afternoon depending on his work schedule.
- Presentation for high/middle school computer clubs. Project Manager Chris Braswell – No update at this time.
- Sierra Vista Christmas parade – Louis Garcia, project manager – Cancelled – As the cost approached $150 we have bowed out of participation.
- “What is Linux” talk to Cyber Patriot Teams (21 October) – Rex Bouwense, on track.
Discussion
- Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak will be released tomorrow 13 October. It is of course an interim release and will only be supported for 9 months.
- A discussion on Gparted completed the meeting. While everyone was familiar with the program some are not quite sure of its capabilities. A demonstration will take place at the next meeting on the 22d of October.
