What I Miss About Unity

When switching from Ubuntu Desktop 16.04 to Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 and 20.04, I have to give up Unity. Now, I'm fine with Unity, if I can get the following:

* Screenshot options after hitting "PRINT SCREEN" key on keyboard
* Exiting/minimizing maximizing button on top-left corner
* Application options on top bar (i.e. "file", "edit", "help" are common menus)
* Control + alt + num pad to move windows on monitor (ctl+alt+9 moves application to the top-right of the screen, ctl+alt+6 moves application to right of the screen, ctl+alt+5 maximizes window)

If I can get those 4 items, I think I will be VERY happy with Gnome. Gnome wastes more vertical screen real estate than Unity--why does every window need its own bar, and the OS gives you a useless drop-down menu at the top?

Also, sorry I haven't made it to the meetings.

no worries. I spent about a month using Gnome, just didn't like it. There are two ways to use 20.04 with unity. There is a version you can download with the unity desktop, and you can install unity via the terminal. It's late tonight, I'll look for that info tomorrow. Cheers

Yes, thank you for getting back with me! I wanted to see if there were options on modifying Gnome to do those things I mentioned below.

attached are two documents showing how to install from terminal.

One difference I noted between the un- ubuntu download and terminal install is that the terminal install has an input as well as output volumn on the sound drop down menu from in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Moreover, you can always revert back to Gnome if wanted, whereas in the ubuntu download I believe all of the gnome codes have been deleted...

In unity there is not an installed night light, be sure to install redshift from the software center if cutting out blue light at night is important to you.
