Mr. Garcia. i don't know if it is appropriate to ask you questions, but I bet there is a real simple answer that won't be much of an imposition to you. Ubuntu 14.04. somehow my folder for documents got deleted from my "places" menu. I reinstalled the folder on my home page, but can't figure how to ad it to the places column on the left side the main menu. Thanks Charles in Saint David.

Hi Charles.  Sorry to see you are having trouble with Linux.  A quick tip to remember is that commands are case sensitive (in fact everything is). 
So Sudo won't work, but sudo will.

well, thanks again. I have one more question:  I got this dell laptop out of moth balls yesterday and updated all the software etc. in addition to tying to fix the places menu, i have another strange thing happening. yesterday I was able to stream  kvrs.org , a cajun radio station from Louisiana. But today it won't play, either on firefox or opera. It still plays on my other computer running 14.04 in both browsers. Any ideas?  I love linux, hate windows, and was a longtime user of macs, but all the headaches with linux are really a bummer. another example. I have installed 16, but firefox in 16 won't allow me to stream videos at a speed that is watchable. the same version of firefox as on 14, these kinds of things drive me crazy...

so, this is what i got...the documents folder is supposedly there, but does not show up on the places colum
