You could have a PPA for Firefox to install it as a deb instead of a snap... Best resolution.. would be just a simple uninstall of current Firefox and reinstall current snap version
To clarify 2 of my stmts last night at monthly meet: 1. to shutdown or restart you must now hit the battery icon and then hit the time icon. I believe this is slightly diff than prior version(s). 2. while firefox in the "dock" section of home screen still works. firefox desktop icon has a red x prob meaning it is a 3rd party app and is not carried over by the upgrade.

Isn't the Firefox in the dock section the snap version? If so I was thinking of just deleting the link associated with the "red x" version.

It's however you installed it on your system. No one can answer that question but you. In previous versions there were Deb and Snap versions of Firefox and could be via PPA we can't tell you how you set up your system.

George, I suspect that you are running the deb version but you
can find out by launching an instance of Firefox and then
selecting the "Help" tab and then select "About" from the dropdown
menu. If it is a SNAP it will say "Mozilla Snap for Ubuntu"

Also, open a terminal and type: snap list That will
give you a list of all snaps installed. If your Firefox is not on
it then it is a deb package. Remove it and reinstall either as a
debit or snap. There are instructions both on the Ubuntu forum
and Ask Ubuntu for doing each.
