    Soon the Cochise Linux User Group will be embarking on a new and exciting project in an effort to introduce its members to different Linux distributions other than Ubuntu (gnome) and Linux Mint (Cinnamon).  We have acquired two Dell Latitude 5580 laptop computers which we intend to use to introduce the membership to Distros such as; Debian, Manjaro, AntiX, MX Linux, Peppermint, Elementary, Zoran, POP OS, Bodhi Linux, Linux Mint Debian Edition, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Linux Mint Mate, and Ubuntu Budgie.  This is intended to expand the members knowledge of Linux in general and Linux distributions in particular.  More information will be available at the monthly CLUG meeting on 28 August 1300-1500 at 143 Street Tacos, 80 S. This is way more than you need to get started.  If you are a Mac person, Ubuntu will be easy to adjust to. And personally, I find the unity desktop more agreeable to me than the gnome that it comes with now. You you can download an "unubuntu" version of 20.04 or you can use the terminal to install the unity desktop. If it comes to that with you, I can send you how to do that...cheers

are you planning to install ubuntu on your macbook? Can't remember what you call it, but you have to go in and change something in the bios to allow you to install it, and you have to use a DVD, you can't use a usb drive. So you have to burn the iso to the DVD, or CD, and then boot from that to install ubuntu.
Sorry can't remember the names of things, I'm an old dude and my mental HD is not so good, and it's been a couple of years since I messed with the apple stuff.
