CLUG Meeting

There is a meeting of the Cochise Linux User Group on Wednesday the 14th
at the University of Arizona South, Sierra Vista campus from 5 to 6 pm.
We will be meeting in the Learning Resource Center. Be there is you
can. There are a few things that we need to discuss reference the
Installfest on the 28th of January.

Gene, Rex's Intro to Linux presentation is tonight at 5:30 at the Warrior Healing Center.

The Computer Repair and Installfest Workshop is Saturday, Sep 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Warrior Healing Center.

My bad, I erroneously referred to tonight's event as a "meeting" instead of a presentation.

I synced the CLUG calender with my Google calendar from the website which really helps to sort the schedule out. I highly recommend it if your on-line calendar is compatible.

My problem is regularly checking the calendar to get my dates and times right. And mischaracterizing the title of the event. 😏

CLUG meetings are held at the Sierra Vista public library on the 4th Saturday of each month from 1300 to 1545. This month's meeting was last Saturday. The next meeting will be on 28 September. We however, do other events. There is a presentation this evening at the Veteran Healing Center ( 1838 Paseo San Luis) from 1730 to 1830 on "Introduction to Linux" which many of you have already heard since I have given it three times before. The target audience is Microsoft users who are fed up with their current operating system and are interested in a change. It will discuss a brief history of Linux, how it differs from Microsoft Windows, and major components of the system. Attend if you desire. We also conduct Installation Festivals (Installfests) at which we install a Linux system on individuals' computers and introduce the newly converted to Linux by answering questions mainly in one on one sessions. We have also conducted computer repair and installation workshops at which we attempt to repair donated computers with donated parts and install a Linux system on them in anticipation of donating them to individuals or groups in need of a computer. The last one we had was on 3 August and the next one will be on 7 September at the Veteran Healing Center. In addition we conduct a Ubuntu Hour on the second Thursday of each month at Schlotzsky's (3900 E. Fry Blvd) from 1800 to 1900. All of these events are posted to the Group calendar which can be found on our website https://cochiselinuxusergroup.org/calendar/ and are included in minutes of the previous meeting or Ubuntu Hour and can also be found on our website https://cochiselinuxusergroup.org/blog/. Members who subscribe to the mailing list normally receive an email from Devi after each event is over with the minutes of the the meeting or an after action report of the event. Upcoming meetings and events are also normally posted in the Sierra Vista Herald Review and the Cochise Trading Post.

My bad, I erroneously referred to tonight's event as a "meeting" instead of a presentation.

I synced the CLUG calender with my Google calendar from the website which really helps to sort the schedule out. I highly recommend it if your on-line calendar is compatible.

My problem is regularly checking the calendar to get my dates and times right. And mischaracterizing the title of the event. 😏
