Hi, still around
I have been using a small Acer Aspire with xubuntu for some time. If left alone, it would time out & I had to enter the PW to restart so I know the correct PW. One morning at start-up it requested the PW rather than loading, which was unusual. And, when I entered same the loading process did not complete & it requested the PW again … & again … without success. If I entered an incorrect PW, it came back quickly saying it was incorrect. Any suggestions? I would bring it tomorrow but I can’t make your 5 o’clock meeting.

Which version of Xubuntu are you using and have you been
installing all of the updates? Have you tried to boot from the
recovery option?
