Facebook - associating with CLUG

From Eliter Awesomeness · Apr 10, 2020

Hello,
I wanted to ask if we could create a fake workplace for Cochise Linux User Group on Facebook, so when people look at our profiles, they see that we "work" for Cochise Linux User Group. Our position, being "member". Maybe there's a better way to say we're associated with CLUG?
I'm not sure how we can do that.

Thanks,
Eli D.

I would say, from an ethical standpoint: NO.

Re: Facebook - associating with CLUG

The group is there for that very point.. and its mainly only there and was created by me to see if we’d get any traffic to it… we got a few people there.. but not many..

Our main sources of information are our mailing list and website.. and we’ve had one person from Facebook join and leave the ML within 24HRs..

Facebook isn’t isn’t crowd we’re going after.. we are trying to get people to our website and mailing list.. the facebook was just more of a redundant place to post meeting notes and things for when the website was down or if people just preferred facebook that much… not to compete with it or to add something else for else to maintain..
