    The Cochise Linux User Group will host a Ubuntu Hour on Thursday 10 March from 1800-1900 (6-7 pm) at Schlotzsky's, 3900 E. Fry Blvd. in Sierra Vista.  While primarily a social event, there is always discussion of Ubuntu, Linux, and Free and Open Source Software.  If you have a problem or a question we will attempt to solve it or provide an answer before the end of the meeting.  Everyone is welcome, so bring a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or a co-worker and introduce them to the wonderful world of Linux operating systems while enjoying a great sandwich and and a cup of coffee or soda.

In the "goody bag" , do you have any DDR3 memory sticks that are 8G or bigger?  Speed of what I have is 1333 and  I would like something like that.

2. What type of wireless connection did you have?
        1. LAN?
                1.1 Fixed IP?
                1.2 DHCP?
                1.3 Can you ping the printer?
        2. Direct Wireless?
                1.1 Direct Wireless in ad hoc connection wireless between 2
devices. AFAIK Wireless Direct broadcast in a different subnet than the
one use the the printer is connected through the Ethernet (?)
                1.2 Direct Wireless is enable by default. You can have both
enable at the same time or have one of the two off. Direct Wireless
requires a password!
        3. Cloud Printing but this is a new bag of worms so most likely
it is not your case.

wife's Windows OS via a USB wired cord to the printer.  Question I
have is can I set the other 2 OS systems to a wireless connection?  I
know I can use a LAN connection from the printer to a cable network
in back of the router but I'm not sure how that works.  That would
leave me with one computer OS left to make a hook up to.  I hope this

Printer is Brother MFC-J825DW.  Used manual configuration on control panel on printer by pressing Menu, then press Network, then press WLAN, then setup Wizard & ultimately put in Network name(SSAID) & NETWORK key(password).  Then I press "Yes" to connect machine using WPS.  Ultimately the wireless symbol shows on the control panel of printer.  I used a CD ROM to install printers & software on each computer.  But each of 3 computers showed printer "offline.  Since nothing worked I installed the wire connection mentioned before on my wife's computer.  Another question is can I keep my wife's connection & do wireless connection to the other 2.

why are you hitting yes for WPS and not just manually putting in the SSID and password into the printer to connect to the wifi.. that's what i do for my printer(s) i never mess with the WPS option... and if you got atleast one computer working with the printer you should also ultimately be able to "Share" that printer from the settings with other PCs over the network as well.. but i'm not 100% certain.. that works over different OS's or if thats just for windows...
