Once again I am forced to inform users of this
list the procedures that should be followed if you expect to get a
response to your question or a solution to your problem. We have
discussed this numerous times but there are still a few of you
that either did not get the message or for some reason think that
you can ignore it.
1, To post a question or problem send an email to cochiselinux@freelists.org Ask your question or describe your problem in as much detail as possible. Do not merely say that my OS is broke or I cannot get on line. Then tell the group what you have done to correct the problem (in detail) and the result of each action (in detail). Some of what you have tried may prevent a solution from working so it may have to be removed. If you used the terminal tell us what commands you used and the result of each.
2. The posts that are announcements of upcoming events, publication of the minutes of our meetings or Ubuntu Hours, Information that may be of interest to some of our members, or notifications of articles with possible interest to subscribers should not be used to ask your question. Send your own email.
3, Do not hijack someone's unrelated post to ask your question. We are trying to keep all of the questions and responses together in one thread to assist others. It is also extremely rude.
4. If you are responding to a post by an individual please reply to the list so your response will be included in the thread.
5. If the advice that you are given does work, acknowledge that. If it does not acknowledge that as well.
5. Alternatively, you can ask your question at our monthly meeting or at the monthly Ubuntu Hour. Once again all of what has been previously said applies. Effective assistance can only be given if we know exactly what you have already done.
