Announcements:

  • We conducted a Linux Workshop/Installfest on 12 June 2021 at the Warrior Healing Center main conference room. There were 7 installs completed without error. The report with pictures can be found on our web page. Three of those desktop computers have replaced older less powerful computers in the Computer Lab in the Warrior Healing Center. Those older computers are now in turn available for donation to individuals or other groups.
  • To date the CLUG has conducted 104 installs and donated 48 computersb to individuals and groups.

Recent Linux/FOSS News Items:

  • Debian 10.10 is out as the latest routine point release before the upcoming release of Debian 11 “Bullseye”.
  • Ubuntu 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) will reach end of life on 22 July 2021.

Discussion/Problems/Questions:

  • A member could not transfer data from his laptop to his flash drive. We reformatted the flash drive and solved the problem.
  • A member could not remember the password he created. He was given the procedure and the procedure was sent to the Mailing list so everyone would have a reminder of how to do it.
